Ingredients
Chicken wings, baking powder, salt, and pepper are the main ingredients of air fried chicken wings. However, if you want to prepare garlic parmesan wings then you need to add parmesan cheese, garlic, and butter to it.
- Chicken wings – 2 lbs
- Baking powder – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – as per taste
- Pepper – as per taste
Procedure – how to prepare air fried chicken wings?
- Season the chicken wings with salt, pepper, and other seasoning ingredients.
- Before seasoning, pat the wings with a paper towel to make them dry.
- Preheat the air fryer 3 to 5 minutes at 380°F. Preheating always helps the food become evenly cooked.
- Put the seasoned wings in the basket in a single layer.
- Cook the chicken wings at 400°F for 25 minutes. Toss the wings every five minutes to make sure uniform cooking.
- If you want more crispiness, you can cook another 5 to 8 minutes at 400°F. Before serving, you can toss the wings with sauce and butter if you wish.

Use baking powder – you want a crispy layer on the wings, you can use baking powder. It is a magic trick. Baking power increases the PH level of the surface of the chicken wings and that is the reason for the wings getting crispy. Use baking powder from a trusted source. If it contains aluminum, then avoid it.
Dry up the chicken – baking powder will not stick to the chicken if it is wet. Therefore, make sure that the wings are not wet. Excess water will create an uneven texture.
Oil or no oil? – air fryer recipes do not require any oil. When the cooking will start, fats from the wings will come out that will help it become crispier.
The number of layers – Do not create multiple stacks when loading the wings into the basket. If you have multiple layer racks, then you can put the wings on the racks to maximize the space. Otherwise, you can cook in different batches.

Air fryer chicken wings do not require any special kind of air fryer. If you have a basic air fryer with a limited capacity, you can still prepare this recipe. But with a small and compact air fryer, you can not load enough chicken wings as I do not recommend to double stack the wings. Therefore, if you have rack then you can use it to maximize the space. If you are using air fryers that have built-in multiple layers, then you can load the wings on each of the layers if you need to cook in a large batch.
