Orange dehydration process – Step by Step
The first step of orange dehydration is washing. Remove if there is any stem or leaf. Rinse the oranges in tap water for a few minutes. I would recommend using a white vinegar solution. You can prepare the solution by yourself. Add half a cup of vinegar in a half-liter of water. Then soak the oranges for 15 minutes in it and rinse.
The second step in preparing dehydrated orange is to slice them. Use a sharp kitchen knife or a food slicer. Make the slices as thin as possible. Make circular thin rings of oranges. The recommended thickness of the rings should be 0.5 cm or less. Thinner slices are good for better dehydration.
The next step is the loading of orange rings on the racks of the air fryer. Arrange the slices in a single layer without overlapping them. If you have a multi-layer air fryer, then use all the layers to get more output. Other than the slices, you may also dehydrate some peels to use them as herbal tea.
