Ninja AF101 comes with a multi-layer rack. AF100 does not have the rack as a free accessory. Ninja AF101 is a smaller size air fryer having a basket capacity of 4 qt. On the other hand, AF161 has a capacity of 5.5 qt. Therefore, the latter one is more suitable for a larger family. A 4 qt air fryer is mostly suitable for a single person or a family of 2. But if you choose it for a large family, then you will have to cook in multiple batches when you need to cook for all of the family members. 

Color, Weight, and dimension

As a higher capacity model, Ninja AF161 is proportionately heavier and bulkier. Although the shape of these two air fryers is almost the same. Both of them are black with a glossy finish. To me, they look premium. 

Heating element

Ninja AF161 has a more powerful heating element than its counterpart. The rated power of this unit is 1750W whereas the other has a rated power of 1500W. The heating element with higher power ensures more uniform cooking in less time. 

Cooking functions

• It is comparatively compact and lighter. Therefore, more suitable for a smaller countertop. 
• The cost of AF101 is less than the counterpart.

AF101 or AF161 – Which one is the winner? 

From the comparison, it is clear that Ninja 161 model is the winner. But if you consider the value for money, then AF101 is not bad either compared with similar models of other brands. Therefore, it fits your purpose, then the Ninja AF101 model is also a good choice. On the other hand, the AF161 is a bit pricy compared with a 6 qt air fryer of other brands. But it gives more value than the additional costs.

The cooking capacity of Ninja AF161 and AF150 is the same. Both of them have a 5.5-quart cooking capacity. Therefore, both of them are able to cook for a medium to large family.

Both of the air fryers have heating elements with the same power rating. The 1750W heating element has a better power rating compared to other equivalent models of other brands.

AF150 has 5 cooking functions. All of these functions are common to AF161.

Ninja AF161 Max XL is undoubtedly a better option. It has a wider temperature range and more cooking functions. The price of both the models is almost the same. The value for money of Max XL will be better. Therefore, I would definitely bet on AF161.
